The Orpheus Project is inspired by Orpheus, who moved the masses with the sweetness of his music, and inspired much of the literature, poetry, and drama of ancient Greece and Rome.
Honoring their god of medicine, Asclepios (son of Apollo and Coronis), the Greeks erected spectacular healing venues known as Asclepieions—where great classical dramas were staged in magnificent amphitheaters connected to highly developed healthcare centers. As early as 350 BC, people traveled to these locations from around the world in the quest to be healed through cathartic theatrical "spectacles."
In the current day, millions of people yearn to experience such a cathartic emotional journey, as they simultaneously benefit from specialized health care treatments. And yet, integrating the grand spectacle of music, art, and medicine into the framework of a magnificent facility is a feat not attempted in more than 2500 years.
During the past decade, multi-talented creators and practitioners in diverse specialties have worked diligently and collaboratively to debut just such project that—inspired by Orpheus—blends the performing arts, medical sciences, and modern technology. A Swiss foundation has largely supported the preparation of this noble venture. Now, the time is right to embrace others to implement the grand plan.
In this bold endeavor, the Orpheus Project seeks the support of international organizations and investors that can harness the resources and expertise necessary to manifest the project in tangible form.
To advance the mission of the Orpheus Project, it is important that: - organizations and entities that unite in this endeavor remain independent of political, religious, philosophical, or scientific agendas that would thwart the project mission, - partners should be most willing to support open-mindedness in the aim to attract outstanding programs and exhibitions that stimulate spectator emotion and enhance the artistic, spiritual, and humanitarian aspects of this project.
Welcome. The Orpheus Project team
